Founder, Sara Gragnolati at INNOVATEBoston3
A unique twist on sourcing natural and healthy food, Cocomama, driven by Sara, has built a product line appealing to current consumer desires by leveraging innovation. Once you enjoy Cocomama cereal from their unique vacuumed sealed package your expectations for prepared breakfast will change. Delivering nutritious and delicious naturally grown grains with fresh fruits cooked in small batches, the Quinoa (a 5,000 year-old ancient gluten free grain) pours out creamy, yet chewy and makes an ideal breakfast, snack or dessert. Like oatmeal, but much healthier, more protein, all nine essential amino acids and easier to prepare.

Founder backstory, Sara Gragnolati
Sara, a MassChallenge award winner, has been recently recognized by the Babson Alumni Entrepreneur Hall of Fame as one of only eight Rising Stars. With contracts with natural food giants Whole Foods and Wegmans, and new channels being established with hotels, value-added resellers and direct to consumer, Sara and Cocomama are setting course to deliver a breadth of quality foods gaining popularity. When diagnosed with food allergies, Sara searched for nutritious and tasty foods that met her dietary requirements and palate. Now, as she continues to gain insight, relationships and contracts, with broader product lines on the immediate horizon, Sara and the Cocomama team plan to expand into additional regions. Not married to cereals alone, Sara’s personal need to find flavorful gluten-free foods, with real sustenance and nutritional value, has afforded Cocomama unique insight into their consumer.
With the quality Cocomama name now established in cereal, Sara plans to appeal to the very same consumer who looks for better alternatives in other food categories. Her real-world experience affords unique market insight, and when combined with expertise in consumer retention – Sara knows how to appeal to her customers. Known for being a wonderful mentor to many founders in Boston and at Babson, Sara has done especially great things for advancing opportunities for Women entrepreneurs. We’re very excited to hear Sara’s vignette on Thursday May 9th.
